Dear friends,
Please read carefully, and act accordingly, with diligence and kindness.
The future is always uncertain. But today it is possibly more unpredictable than ever. For the Iai’s World Philosophy Day 2024, we asked leading thinkers how philosophy can help us navigate this unknown, but you have to pay for a subscription to read the article, and you are economically forced to make that decision because there is yet a well-funded, not-for profit, collegial institute in Queensland, but what this space!

Philosophers like Bernardo Kastrup remind us to look beyond self-centred narratives, while Emily Herring highlights the importance of learning from history. Tommy Curry urges us to confront systems of inequality, emphasising philosophy’s role in achieving justice.

As we face challenges like AI, climate change, and misinformation, Massimo Pigliucci advises focusing on what we can control, while Barry Smith explores how to ethically navigate emerging technologies.

“The future demands of us more than practical changes; it requires a shift in perspective, a new way of thinking and even new modes of consciousness.”
