Humanists are values-driven voters. We are caring, politically-active people that lead ethical lives and work to better this world without the confines of religion or belief in the supernatural.
Secular Democrats of America hosted a virtual event, HUMANISTS FOR HARRIS, where an esteemed list of speakers will discuss what’s at stake in this election: climate, science, democracy, reproductive justice, and LGBTQ+ rights. 202410.15., 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT.

- Humanistic-centred but Americans are still generally ignorant of broader humanism, which does not change the call to change politics, but this scientific form limits its appeal to pitch to the undecided. This is a cultural limitation where the American scientific humanism has become too globally dominant. The reactionary politics of the American Republicans is based on the negativity of the scientific variant, whereas the British-Australian humanism balances out the message to a more inclusive approach which would have a greater political appeal without compromising principle.
- How did this happen? What was political studies became “political science”, and for the sake of what is thought to be “fact”, the ideas were lost: C. Wright Mills and Richard Hofstadter from the early 1960s. This is the humanist curse, forgetting the history.
- The American history myth is limited, even as it has many truths.
- I get the counter-criticism: the purpose of the pitch is the existential crisis of climate change, but this will not appeal to Americans undecided and republican votes, AS A REASONED ARGUMENT WHICH COULD CONVINCED, YOU HAVE LOST THE OPPORTUNITY.
