Don’t misunderstand my criticism of the “Department of Education” but take my criticism and theoretical-practical solutions seriously. Otherwise the “Trumpers” will change policy in a worse way.
It is happening in the United States, as we all should know:
“DOGE probe, which began last week, is a prelude to a more dramatic effort to make good on one of Trump’s campaign promises: eliminating the Education Department altogether.”
Laura Meckler, Danielle Douglas-Gabriel and Hannah Natanson, Trump preps order to dismantle Education Dept. as DOGE probes data, The Washington Post, 4 February 2025 4:55 p.m. EST.
It is unlikely that any Australian government under the major political parties would go down this pathway, but, make not mistake, there is pressure to follow in the basic idea: eliminating the educational theories and practices that the ‘conservatives’ (of all parties) prejudiciously hate, and will do everything in their power to get rid of “sophisticated education” in Australia.
If policy is not changed for the better — as in the issues I have raised (blog articles and essays)– it will only get worse.
