Thinking about “The A.I. Generated Four-Eyed (Hands) Perception Human”

Read Time:

2–3 minutes

Create an image called, “The A.I. Generated Four-Eyed (Hands) Perception Human”; that the human mind can have six eyes to give holism of perception.

  1. Bifocal human eyes (2);
  2. The left-right hand (2) of cognition; directions of socio-political thought;
  3. The arm movement of lifting up or pushing down (2) in the cognition form (practical or applied philosophy).

In modernity, wisdom is not revelation, divine or otherwise, it is perception in the correct fitness; that is, we have not blinded ourselves in fantasy or fiction, or lies, and other falsehoods. It is not gnostic in that it is public, spoken in candour. Postmodernity went in the incorrect pathway in its fragmentation and in its surface dismissal of ‘fitness’, a holism. The dismissal is a blinding aesthetic.

For orthodox Christians, a person is subsumed into a whole called ‘God” or the Holy Spirit. Intellectually, it is worldview.  Divine Subsumption, in general, means to include something as part of a larger or more general category or concept, and it is in orthodoxy, as it is omnipotens, omniscientis, omnipraesens, and omnificens. The correctness or fitness-ness in the Postmodern direction is to challenge the fitness of alleged omnipotens, omniscientis, omnipraesens, and omnificens. Where it becomes incorrect is a self-serving cynicism. For the sociological-personalistic model, I am arguing a basic proposition, that the “nature” of a person is the internalism (Bernard Williams: moral-ethical judgement is only correctly internal) a worldview, a perceptional judgement as omnipotens, omniscientis, omnipraesens, and omnificens. It is either that or the stupidity of the wilful ignorance, in the dismissal, refusing to respect another person’s worldview, correct or incorrect. Today, we have organisations where an wilful ignorance are forcing other persons out, in alleging their “misbehaviour”, producing exclusivising silences. But, in fact, it might be a case of miscomprehension of the whole in the self-serving agenda of cynicism. This is a fault of Secular Humanists or much as it is for Orthodox Christians.

Nearly everyone operates in this binary bifocal approach. Famously, but-then-in-wilful-ignorance (in the perception on), Wilfrid Sellars (1912-1989), in his battles with scientificism, had his own bifocal theory of perception: the manifest and scientific images, and an inferentialist account of meaning. In his “Philosophy and the Scientific Image of Man” (1962), Sellars distinguishes between the “manifest image” and the “scientific image” of the world. It also includes his famous quote about “the aim of philosophy, abstractly formulated,” being “to understand how things, in the broadest possible sense of the term, hang together, in the broadest possible sense of the term.”

It is a perceptual fitness worldview.
