Saying the binary “slow cuts or risk lasting harm” is plain stupidity. Surely, it must dawn upon the dumbest economist that slow cuts mean lasting harm. We have been here many times before, in the same position, for decades. Lasting harm.

When will we have government leaders who stand up for what is true? When will we have VCs to have courage to tell it like it is and the comprehensive change required, directly into the eyes of politicians. Note comprehensivenot the conclusions of party partisan politics, which are mostly incorrect, for all their correct dignified principles.
