The Alchemy of Intellect: Restoring Wisdom to the Denoetized Mind

The classical idiom of ”throwing pearls to swine” serves as a vital diagnostic for the contemporary intellectual crisis, yet within the framework of the Management Institute for Contributory Economy (MICE), it must be transformed into a narrative of restorative truth-telling and social accountability.

The Pathology: Swine as the Denoetized Mind

In the traditional reading, the “pearls” represent sacred spiritual insights or wisdom, while the “swine” are those hostile or fundamentally incapable of grasping value. From my perspective as a cognitive sociologist, the “swine” are not naturally ungrateful creatures; rather, they represent the ”Conventional Person” trapped in a state of denoetization—the mechanical liquidation of the human capacity to judge under the pressure of automated technical and bureaucratic systems.

These individuals have been reduced to ”puny human nodes” or passive conduits for institutional stimuli. When we present them with the “pearls” of deep historical inquiry or the Synthesis of the Five Intentions (Self, Mind, Reason, Utility, and Love), they trample them into the dirt not out of malice, but because they have been conditioned by a ”techné mindset” that recognizes only narrow vocational fitness and immediate “Political Profit”. Their rejection is a symptom of ”Historical Forgetfulness,” a systemic pathology where societies repeat errors because the origins of their core concepts have been banished from memory.

The Pearls: Reclaiming the “Original Synthesis of Experience”

The “pearls” I offer are the insights of Spiral Historiography, which “uncoil” repetitive patterns of failure to restore Human Authorship over our shared reality. These are the ”thick ethical concepts” (such as courage or kindness) that provide the necessary anchors for genuine judgment, unlike the “thin” metrics of administrative data.

Drawing on the legacy of Jack McKinney, I define the ultimate pearl as the ”Original Synthesis of Experience”—the realization that reality is an interpersonal social product synthesized through the “living bridge” of language. To offer this wisdom is to invite the individual to move from a ”Junior” state of unreflective execution toward a ”Senior” state of social accountability.

The Narrative Shift: From Futility to Indiscriminate Kindness

However, the narrative of “Swine and Pearls” must be counterweighted by the principle of ”raining on the just and unjust”. While we must practice discernment to protect our resources from those who would merely tear us to pieces, we are also called to reflect an impartial, unconditional love.

In my work, this is operationalized as Methodological Tenderness. Instead of merely withdrawing my “pearls” in the face of hostility, I implement the POLICE model (Philosophically Ontology Logic Intersect Compatibility Education) as an “intellectual immune system”. This tool allows me to filter out the ”institutional bullshit” and manufactured myths that create the “swinish” state of unreflective habit.

By reinventing thinking (penser) as caring (panser), I use these pearls as a procedural shield to protect human particularity from the coldness of pure calculation. The narrative move is from the frustration of being unheard to the proactive labour of restoring the “City of Intellect”.

Conclusion: Toward Aristotelian Flourishing

Ultimately, the goal is not to judge who is “worthy” of the pearls, but to create the conditions for Aristotelian flourishing (eudaimonia). Like the gardener who understands the historical composition of the soil, the professional historian acts as a panseur (healer), using restorative truth-telling to tend to the “social wounds” of a fragmented society. We continue to offer our pearls—our Sufficient Comprehension of the whole of the matter—in the hope that by uncoiling the circles of stupidity, we can transform the “swine” back into proactive authors of their own humane future.
