At the end of 2022 Dr Buch was placed in an impossible position in terms of gaining employment or a contract for which he was aimfully qualified. This paper analysing the story. The conclusions are questions that the Queensland Government was asking in the period 2021-2023, but really did not want to hear the best answers from the global literature. In 2021-2023 the Queensland Government was not making best practices in employment and contracting when refusing to employ or contract the leading thinker in the field of Sociology of Education. The global Sociology of Education literature is ignored by the Queensland Government and the State Policy is based on parochial attitudes. A scan of global research shows that most of the references on “education” and “Queensland” are related to health issues, and also environmental studies, much of the humanities and other social sciences are wiped out in the formative thinking of Education Queensland. “Queensland characteristics” are not beyond strong criticism. Ultimately, with all other prognoses and solutions, the issue is one of socialised personal prejudice. This is also related to the practice in Government of denying ideological positioning in policies. The Government keeps failing to read and understand Sociology of Education in relation to bad employment and contracting practices.
