NEW DAWN
This morning…
This is what I said to my American colleague, Garrett Lang of the Free Thinker Institute (New York, NY), who I work with on these big ideas of education, and politics.
… here today, on Sunday, we have a new government. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the end of the uncompromising right-wing swing in politics over the last few decades, and might signal the end of the cultural-history wars in Australia. We’ll see.
For my friends overseas, we do not yet know if there will be a majority or minority Labor government, but one thing is sure, this is a unique historical victory in Australia for those of us, for more than a generation, have been denouncing divisive politics, the cultural-history wars, and the lies and corruption. It is a victory for the so-called ‘teal independents’ and for the Greens, especially in my home state of Queensland, and in Victoria. Western Australia has turned into a sea of Labor red.
It is a victory for change, for decisive action on climate change risk, for women’s equality and security, and for integrity in politics.

Hi Neville – IMO, your comment, “We’ll see”, strikes the right note of caution.
An interesting result, the Griffith Electorate has major concerns about aircraft noise on to of the other problems.
