Abstract
This essay critiques the Lebensphilosophie (Philosophy of Life) adopted by “anti-disciplinary thinkers”—those who operate outside rigorous intellectual networks—contrasting their approach with the methodological rigor of trained philosophers like Nietzsche, Dilthey, and Simmel. While anti-disciplinary thought often devolves into “Limited Thinking” and unreflective prejudice, trained philosophers utilize Lebensphilosophie as a powerful tool to bridge the “analytical abyss” between abstract theory and lived reality. The critique reveals that anti-disciplinary thinkers frequently fall victim to “technocratic reductionism” and “Historical Forgetfulness,” reducing complex human experience to simplistic myths. To counter this, a return to the “human sciences” (Geisteswissenschaften) and the systematic deployment of the Dynamic of Cognition (DoC) is necessary. By integrating the Five Intentions (Self, Mind, Reason, Utility, and Love), the scholar can move from a “Junior” state of unreflective execution to a “Senior” state of social accountability.

The Problem of Scientificism

Abstract
This essay investigates the philosophical tension between scientificism—the belief that the methods of the natural sciences provide the only valid route to rational knowledge—and the advanced common-sense philosophy that prioritizes lived experience, human authorship, and historical contingency. While critics argue that scientificism results in a “techné mindset” that reduces the human person to a “meaningless checkerboard of parts,” a defence of this philosophy rests on its capacity to provide an absolute conception of the world and a systematic “science of science” to solve social ills. By mapping these shifts through the Dynamic of Cognition (DoC), this inquiry explores how the “scandal” of philosophy’s lack of a systematic methodology can be resolved through a transition from unreflective prejudice toward “conscious competence”. Ultimately, it argues that the path to avoiding the stagnation of scientificism lies in Spiral Historiography and the POLICE model of self-correction, which re-integrates the “thick” reality of history into the quest for truth.

The Problem of Unreformed Humanism

Abstract
The following essay presents a defence of “unreformed humanism”—the classical, elitist, and metaphysical tradition rooted in the studia humanitatis—against the critiques of “contemporary humanist philosophy,” which includes movements like Digital Humanism, Critical Theory, and post-postmodernist inclusive humanism. Unreformed humanism is defined by its commitment to a monistic rationalism and the elevation of humanity over animality through a rigorous, often exclusionary, classical curriculum. Section one explores this “Lost Thought” of intellectual hierarchy and its defence of the human as a self-sufficient agent. Section two provides summaries of the sharp critiques levelled by thinkers such as Bernard Stiegler, Jürgen Habermas, and Bernard Williams, who argue that such humanism suffers from “Historical Forgetfulness” and a chronic repression of technics. Finally, section three outlines a methodological roadmap to avoid becoming “propagated” in the stagnant patterns of unreformed humanism, utilizing the POLICE model, Spiral Historiography, and the reinvention of thinking as caring (panser).
