The article is reasonable but still the spin comes into view. Hence, the quote. Academics have been tamed by governmental forces. Anyone in the education industry, brave enough to speak the full truth is removed from an income. Rebecca Cairns and Kerri Anne Garrard do okay and I do not put the blame at their feet.
However, politics destroys good governance, and it also destroys education. It comes of the “history enrolments have only declined” way of thinking. The thinking fails to understand that we have been on this spiraling trajectory for decades, without decision makers willing to actually change the state of affairs.
All I can say to governance is that I am looking you in the eyes, and so are the Australian and Queensland public.
