Australian-American Cultural Relations: The Humanistic Ascent and Fairness- Reclaiming Agency from the Mechanized Mind

Abstract

This combined essay explores the dual crises of the “mechanized mind” as it manifests in 21st-century religious systems and digital technologies. By examining the phenomenon of Evangelical a-Historicism and the rise of the American Revivalist Tradition (ART), the analysis identifies how a-historical literalism often functions as a ”theological mask” for partisan political agendas, inducing a state of ”Historical Forgetfulness”. Simultaneously, it addresses the challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence, where the loss of human agency to automated calculation parallels the “mechanization of faith”. To navigate these “technical abysses,” the essay advocates for a ”humanistic ascent” grounded in Spiral Historiography and the principle of Substantial Fairness. By utilizing the POLICE model to filter out “institutional bullshit,” the essay proposes a state of Philosophical Compatibilism—where a person of faith can be simultaneously rational, skeptical, and humanist—within a Contributory Economy aimed at Holistic Flourishing.
