Abstract:

The current global revolution in thought is defined by a transition from the “Digital Revolution” of modernity to a “post-post-postmodern” era characterized by “symbolic misery” and “denoetization”—the mechanical liquidation of human judgment. This “immense regression” is driven by a technical society that reduces higher education to “measurable utility” and “vocational readiness,” treating the student as a “puny human node” in an automated network. This essay argues that the Antigone Complex—a structurally necessary intergenerational critique—serves as the curative mechanism to save higher education. By challenging the “carelessness” of existing institutional systems and reclaiming the “holy spirit” of scholarship, the Antigone Complex allows the new generation to “uncoil” the vicious circles of Historical Forgetfulness. Ultimately, this movement restores human authorship, ensuring that the university remains a site for Aristotelian flourishing rather than a mere factory for technical drive-based behaviour.
